That's right.  I am a []D [] []\/[] []D  *"pimp" took me nearly 10 minutes to get right... but it was well worth it*  About 2 1/2 hours ago I was surrounded by people arguing over who was #1 to me. (Libby actually had it in writing and was wearing mittens but Allie fed me chips and rubbed my foot... I'm not sure who won that one.)

Downers Grove South: I blew the proverbial left nut like a French prostitute with syphilis (thank goodness for Choir Trips).  Forgetting your funniest paragraph is never a good things. I completely enjoyed myself, however.  There was another Mormon there that I already knew and some judges said, "But he was a gorgeous Mormon boy."  The massive amounts of down-time between my A rounds were so boring, though.  Some bits of advice were recieved a little too late

I left DGS early because my dad was rather mad.  Granted he completely over-reacted since it was over an e-mail address. It was pretty nice, actually, just because I got to sleep for quite some time. 

Well, I think that's my week end thus far.

As far as I'm concerned, this day can be over.  I gave all the stuff I'm going to give today, no family is visiting, I got new socks... life is very, very good.

Well, since the last time I posted, it was finals week.  Some of them were total beasts (...Euro...), others were insultingly easy (CHEMISTRY!), and others were simply too awesome for words (BAND!) (I filled out Eggplants scale evaluation... he did a good job, I don't know why he wouldn't just give himself all 5's.) (My mom is currently talking about him with my Aunt Jane... weird.) 

As for my SOS, I got 5th in that tournament... not too shabby if I do say so myself.

Yes, that is right, after 4 1/2 months of owning the book, I, Elizabeth Rose Baratta, am proud to say that I have finished the latest addition to the young Potter's saga.  Not that I didn't already know what happened.  I actually started crying toward the end.  (You should know why.) And would Ron and Hermione just get together already!?!  GEEZ!!!

Now for my explanation for why I wasn't in school today.  As you already know, I didn't get home from school last night until 10 pm (as in was at school for 15 hours straight) and still had to finish some homework.  That homework finishing took me a good 4 hours and I had to wake up at 6!  That's not the reason why I stayed home, though.  The real reason is because when I woke up I couldn't move and had a searing pain in my right foot.  My back hurt so much that if I even tried to move my head more than an inch or two in any direction it hurt. 

 As for the pain in my foot, I shifted my weight in such a way that I could see what the source was.  My beloved cat, Nephi, decided that it would be a good idea to chomp down on my foot to get my attention.  Naturally I screamed, "LEGGO OF MY FOOT YOU STINKING CAT!!!!"  Then this brilliant creature walked on my back so he could sleep on the side of my face. 

My mom walked into the room, I explained my situation to her and she asked if it was reasonable to believe that I wouldn't be making it to school today.  Obviously the answer was yes.  It would have been nice if she moved the cat of left me some motrine. 

I stayed in that position for a good 4 hours and then worked up the nerve to get some painkillers.  Now I'm pretty okay.

The concert last night went pretty well.  I hope you all noticed who I was sitting next to. ; P  I almost fell off the stage when I showed up late for the assemblies. 

Anyway, will people with classes with me or are on speech team let me know what my homework is or if I need anything for Speech?  (Not that I NEED anything.  I'm not even competing ^_^)

WOO!!! GERMAN PAST TENSE!!!!  I took a test on it today!  Yep, check out my mad foreign language skillz.  Anthony boobs was no help in my thinking of a title, by the way.  Cheese is not a verb.

Allow me to complain about Thursday because it needs to be done.  I am missing most of the morning because of a band concert, assembly boobs thing and I don't think I'll be leaving school that day until anout 10 pm because of the evening concert and speech team.  (NOTE:  Speech competition = fun on a bun.)  I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do about homework but I think it involves fire, a creative chant, duplos (you know, the giant legos), and a large picture of David Spade on a cell phone.  Michaelangelo the Ninja Turtle may be making an appearance as well.

SOS! How in the heck do you write one?  I've seen them but I've had a major brain fart when it came to writing one. 

And my mom didn't know how long I was in Middle school. Go Mom!

Now, here's a rather touchy issue:  Should I get Eggplant a Christmas present?  And if so, what?  You guys had better not go boob and say yes without an idea for a gift, because then I would be forced to shank you.

Ahh... it feels good to be posting again.  How long has it been? 3 months? Bah!  That is crap.  I wonder if anyone still looks at this thing.  Anyway, I plan to clean it up a bit... get rid of the gambling and penis enlargment ads.  I don't think I'll be needing either one since I am, in fact, a Mormon girl.

Hmm what has happened since I was last here.  I know!  I'll create a list of most of the stuff I would usually post!  My Sophmore year so far is as follows (in no particular order):

• Got an MP3 player for my birthday.  (Thanks Robin and Mom, for remembering!)
• Birthday party was pretty darn awesome.  Eggplant was there (yes, the very same) and he got me a necklace.  I got some more really awesome stuff like legos and Darth Tater and we ended up cutting Sasha's hair!
• Football season for RB is very much over... quite fun but Mr. hasn't been in a very good mood for sometime.
• Von Stueben parade was fun... Discovered a side of Collin that I never actually wanted to see.
• Homecoming was fun on a stick.  I went with Adam (as freinds) and was better than last year's.  Shopping for a dress, however, was not.  I was reduced to tears on more than one occasion because simply nothing looked good.  (I finally lucked out at Nordstrom's and got a red dress that I didn't look too bad in.)
• Speech Team is much more enjoyable.  I'm in Radio and an HDA with Kayla.  I have to be there a lot more often, though.
• AP Euro owns my life.  My textbook is my only friend.
• I was sick on Halloween.  No trick-or-treating.
• I don't get to hang out with my friends as much as I would like to.  It would be a lot easier if they all liked each other and were willing to get to know each other or be more outgoing.  Oh well, can't have everything.
• I have been referred to as Elizabeth the Mormon Seductress. 
• Hot White Chocolate is crazily good.
• My house has become ghetto fabulous in its old age.  Tell 'em, Allie!
• I think I might be enjoying myself a little bit more.  I'm not quite as anal about going a certain path that leads me straight from point A to point B.
• Thanksgiving was alright.  It tasted good but was pretty uneventful.  It was just me and my parents.

Then there was yesterday.  I had to put my cat, Tasha, down.  I'm not sure why, but for some reason I broke down and couldn't deal with it.  I'm not like that with people, though.  Maybe it has to do with the unconditional love a pet gives.  I think it had something to do with the fact that Tasha definatly was different from any other animal we've ever owned.  She thought she was a person and my mom always said that she thought of me as her big sister.  Anyway, it was yesterday that I determined that I'm definatly an emotional eater and that it's a good thing I'm not sad too often because when I am, I'm useless.  Yesterday was also the first time I had cried in public since I was a little kid.  I think I worried everyone in the vet's office since I was crying before anyone told me what was wrong with her.  I knew she was pretty far gone, though.  She couldn't walk and didn't respond to anyone's voice aside from mine.  I decided that I would end up regretting not getting a picture of all three of our cats so I propped Tasha in a box, got Zoe and Nephi and took the picture.  You can barely see Tasha but it's enough knowing that she's there.  I started crying again.  I don't know why but for some reason I don't want to let go of this cat.  I guess I'll just have to deal with it some other way.

Have you ever wanted to go to sleep so bad that you couldn't?  I do right now.I am so tired that it's sad.  I went to bed at 10:30 and didn't fall asleep until 1:00 am only to wake up again at 4:00 am.  I tried falling back asleep until 5:00 am but then lost all hope of getting anymore so I got up and took a shower and stuff like that.  RIght now I'm just trying to stay awake so that I can establish a regular sleeping pattern. 

Anyway, today was a hoot!  I have 4 classes with Andrea!  I only have one with Eggplant, though.  I happen to think that that's more than a little sad.  How am I supposed to keep tabs on him? 

Well, I think I'm going to tape my eyes open for a little while until about 9...

For those of you who have a weak stomach, know who Eggplant is, or just don't like reading about a dream with naked people in it, I suggest you stop reading now!  Actually, I really don't know why I'm posting about this here, but w/e.

So, pretty much the entire dream was Eggplant walking around my house naked.  He was very well-built, I must say.  And well endowed.... if you know what I mean.  *snicker*  He had a very good reason for being naked, though.  What are you supposed to do when you get food on your shirt?  Anyway, the really good part was when he was getting ready to leave (still naked mind you... why weren't my parents weirded out by this???) Was that we kissed... several times.  Ahh!  I bet that's how our 1st date is going to go!

Anyway, back to the not so naked world (although nudity IS a very large part of band).  It was the 1st day of band camp!  It was so fun, it's actually a little sad!  (Haha, Nadia... good times.)  I love my line, too!  Me and Libby are going to make it the coolest line in the entire band!!!! (Think red leather pants...)  And I'm never too far away from Eggplant!  It's a VERY good situation. 

Well, I think it's pretty safe to say that we should make a movie.  It might not happen all that soon, but it will be made.  I was talking about it to Anthony, Sasha (we came up with it), and Adam and I think you'll find some of our discussions quite amusing (mostly Anthony... that kid is RANDOM!)

Unfortunatly, I deleted my conversation with Adam.  It was pretty good and explained where the pizza came in.  Anyway, YAY MOVIE!!!

How cool is this?

My Guinnea pig, George, decided that it would be a good idea to run off my lap and go straight for the computer wiring.  Naturally, I had to stop this activity and scold him.  Georgey, I yell at you only because I love you.  He's turned into a bit of a meat eater over the past few months. Silly piggy.

I had my 1st day of volunnteering yesterday.  It was great!  Anna was with me and the 1st part of the day we did our usual tennis match and had lunch with my parents.

Our IDs were both hideous, but Anna's was worse (Her eyes were closed).We had to find our way there with a kid named Patrick and Anna couldn't understand ewhat he says.  I get to be her translater.  We got a little lost looking for the place our IDs were supposed to be taken.  The lady said the building was WHITE!!!  It was most obviously BEIGE!!!!

After that we learned to sign in and then we got to pick out our smock and/or jacket!

My 1st job was to transport some one who wasn't there!  My partner and I (I was her shadow for most of the day) were going around the cafeteria calling out her name to no answer.  We found out later that they made it a patients room and we brought them to the parking garage.  They were so nice!  I didn't even crash the lady into anything!

The next job was transporting flowers.  I got to do half of it with Anna but when we were with a different girl, some one hit the cart while she was turning and a vase fell over and broke!  I delivered the other flowers while it was being cleaned up.  The rest of the flowers Anna and I delivered were taken without a cart and my Dad led us there. 

The very last set of flowers we delivered was to a rather senile man and unfortunatly his gown rode up...  You can figure out what that entails. 

I did most of the delivering and Anna did the extremely important job of pressing the elevator buttons... Without her I would be jumping up and down in front of doors trying to get from one place to the other.

Today I did a whole lot of nothing.  I did talk to Brittany and I'm talking to Allie now.  Britt, I hope you had fun today.  I know you enjoyed everyone's company and I wish I could have joined you.  *Tries desparately to not laugh*

Oh my Goodness!  Yesterday was one of the best days ever!  It was so fun and awesome and educational I can barely stand it!!!  The day before wasn't bad either.  Allow me to start with Monday.

It all began with me calling Anna to tell her to do something with me.  We were going to get Britt to come with but she was with Mizzo so we couldn't really get a hold of her.  We decided to go to Chinese and had a great time of it.  Yay sesame chicken.  Later we went to downtown La Grange and saw The Interpretor.  It was a surprisingly good movie. 

Yesterday my mom and I picked up Anna to get our TB shot and go to our volunteer orientation at the hospital.  It turns out we can't start volunteering until next week because we waited too long to get our shot but that's okay.  When we finished with our shots we went outside to play a little tennis.  Let me explain something.  I can't play sports. I cannot run. I cannot jump. I cannot hit. I cannot aim. I cannot throw.  That's part of the reason why I am in band.  I dislike sports greatly because I can't do sports.  That day was different however.  I took the tennis racket and Anna told me that I should face my opponent, holding the raquet so that I can't see the face so I can go for it on either side.  She hit the ball to me and to both of our surprise, I hit it back over the net!!!  It was a beautiful thing!  I actually hit it!  It didn't even end there, either!!! On more than one occasion we hit it to each other 8 or 9 time in a row!  (Granted, they were spread out over 4 courts.)  It was wonderful!

We had a break between tennis game-like things and during it we read some 2 minute mysteries.  They were all dumb and the answers weren't anything you could convict anyone on.

After our Tennis and mysteries, Anna and I went inside and stayed in my mom's lab until lunch.  We filed a few cards for her and made fun of some people's names.  I think Elizabeth is the name of healthy people because we didn't come across any to be filed.

We went to lunch and had some unique conversations.  They were all about either dead people or always having your knife on hand.  Thanks, Dad.  I am truly inspired, now.

After lunch, we went back to my mom's lab and filled boxes with pipets for one of my mom's co-workers.  It was surprisingly fun. 

They had nothing left for us to do at the lab so my mom sent us rampaging around looking for a gift shop.  Anna decided that we should play cards and I thought SPOONS would be fun.  The only problem with that was that there were only two of us and it's not as fun with two people as it is with about a million.  We solved this issue.  Whenever someone got 4 cards, they had to sing "I'm a Little Teapot" whil the other franticly searches for 4 of the same card.  If they find it, they grab the spoon (or in our case, straw) and win that round.  It proved to be an awesome game!  We played a little more Tennis and then went inside to freshen up.  May I add that Anna is a wuss.  If you can't strip down in a women's wash room (And I mean take off your shirt to reveal *gasp* the tank top you're wearing underneath) and clean yourself off, well, I don't know... but it's still sad. 

Orientation started about 20 minutes late and there were a ton of people there. 

After Orientation, we drove Anna home and I sat down for a nice bowl of fried rice.

That is, until Brittany called asking if I wanted to go with her to the Drive-In (I had no idea it existed) to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Fantastic Four.  Obviously  I did so I went with her and her family to the drive in. It was great!!!  Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was the best movie ever!  It was funny and smart and I loved it!!!  Watch it when you get the chance.

Fantastic Four, however, left much to be desired.  Yes they got their powers and that one guy wasn't very nice but why did he go evil?  The good guy didn't start spending extra time with the good girl until way after the bad guy went all weird.  It wouldn't have helped his company much anyway.  Oh, and for all of you who may wish to be supervillians, a few words of advice.

1.) At least go evil over something!  Lost love, you felt wronged by one of the heroes, you stubbed your toe, SOMETHING! 

2.) If you emerge from a garbage truck, You're probably not going to win.  It was true in both the movies I saw last night.  You cease to be even remotely cool when you jump out of a garbage truck, I don't care how rich you are.

3.) If you make a mask for yourself, you know you're crazy.  Now, it's okay for Batman and Spiderman, but that's about it.  I don't really consider them to be the most sane of people, either.  ("I have no powers but with my utilety belt, I can save the world and look good in spandex!"  "That's nothing!  I wasn bitten by a radioactive spider and instead of getting cancer and dying, I can climb walls!!!!")  Did we learn nothing from Hannible?  They don't get much crazier than that guy.  (Speaking of cannibles, there's an awesome line about it in Chocolate Factory!)

Note to movie makers.  Don't go "The End" and then go "Oh, wait, let's set up for the sequel first".  It's quite dumb.

Well, life in the hermit lane (thank you brittany!) has been alright, I guess.  I don't have to deal with people which is my anti-social sides dream com true.  Unfortunatly, my hideously social side that emerges about once ever 2 weeks is dying a slow and painful death.  Luckily, I might be going to Brookfest tomorrow with a few friends so that will be good.

I think I'm going to temporarily put a hold on the whole "Constantly going after Eggplant" thing.  I've tried asking him out twice but they've both not worked... either by an outside force, or him not being there.  I think I should probably take it as a sign to lay off for awhile.  Maybe I'll try again for my birthday or something.  Or maybe Brittany will (very smoothly I might add) lay the groundwork for him.  ("OMG! Oh my gosh!!!  Youth COnference was so great!!!  Seriously, I feel so much better about everything I stand for.  I'd write more about it my favorite parts but (I'd hate to sound stuck up) you really kind of have to be a Mormon to really understand where I'm coming from for most of it. 

However, New York Mormons can't really dance.  Not the guys anyway.  It was very cute when they tried, though!  Oh and I danced with  kid named Heleman (Not a Mormon name at all!)  He was kind of shy but was still nice. (Just to clarify, dancing with some one at a Mormon dance doesn't mean much, I still like Eggplant!) 

My Aunt Janet and Uncle Bill are in town now.  I think they want to go to the zoo but they picked the wrong time for it!  It's always the best during the winter when no one's there and the animals are actually doing something!  It's okay, though.  They're still cool.

Is it sad that I kind of want school to start?  I have nothig much to do right now so I'm a little bored.  TV has definatly lost its charm and you can only stay online for so long.

Hmm.... I had a dream that I was being mugged by some guy after talking to a girl I knew from class.  It was the weirdest thing.  He was just looking for some money so I handed it to him and he shot a blank at me.  I went to Anna's house because it was the closest one to where I was. Anyway, I don't think I'm stressed or have to defend any part of my character. Oh, well.  Now for the real point of this entry.

EGGPLANT WASN'T AT THE 4TH OF JULY PARADE!!!!!!

I was all ready to ask him out and he had the nerve not to show up!  Actually, knowing him, he probably didn't go because some one died or he was violently ill. 

I'm going on Youth Conference from Wednesday to Saturday so I'm going to be in:

The only reason why I'm sending this so soon is because it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to go online anytime soon between the parade (and after-barbeque), baby-sitting, and packing (still can't find my "For the Stragnth of Youth" book!)

Today is so important, my friends.  All around the world, pro bono concerts are taking place in an effort to help stop one of today's greatest tragedies.  Helping to raise awareness are top musicians, celebrities, personalities, actors and politicians.  The United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, Japan, Russia and South Africa are all hosting these unprecedented concerts.  Here in the US, you can watch the 8 hour coverage on VH1 and MTV.  Additionally, you may watch the entire event online through broadband or listen on various radio stations.

Africa desperately needs your help.  Every three seconds an African child dies from poverty, disease and/or starvation.  Not only do many of these people live on less than $1 a day, the continent itself is in debt and using what little money it has to pay it off.  That money (and so much more, no doubt) should instead be going to things like health care, shelter and food for the masses.

Instead, babies are going to bed hungry, and parents are dying. 

On July 6th, the G8 convention will be held in Scotland.  8 of the world's leaders will be there to discuss global events and budgeting.  This year, Tony Blair is chairman of the convention, and will be bringing Africa's plight to the forefront.

We need the leaders to erase Africa's debt.  And that isn't even enough.  Further than that, we need them to provide this hurting continent with monetary grants instead of loans.  Africa cannot afford to pay anything back. 

So what can you do?  No one is asking for your money, simply your voice.  Please, please, please- sign the petition that will be presented to the G8 convention.  Let these 8 powerful men know that what's going on in Africa is unacceptable.  Let them know that you refuse to stand idle while 1/6 of the world's population slowly and painfully wastes away.  Let them know that it isn't fair for your birthplace to determine whether you live or die.

Today.... hmm... I was really freaking bored until I met up with Adam and Sasha at Anthony's house.  I must say that Diablo runs Adam's life.  And Sasha has too much crap in his book bag.  (Who cares if I put half of it in there?)   We went to Ben's house and just sort of meandered about aimlessly after that.

I came home an hour late but I don't think my dad bothered to read the note I left for him. 

I don't know what has come over me but I seem to be liking musical (as in a play type thing) tunes a lot better than I used to.  Right now I have "At the End of the Day" completely stuck in my head.  It's seems like the most fun peice in the world to play or even just sing!

Speaking of music, I miss band.  I wish I had joined a community band or something because I'm itching for some new music! 

Before I forget, I'm leaving for Youth Conference next Wednesday and won't be back until Saturday.  Yay good old Mormon fun! 

I hung out with Brittany and Mizzo for the first time all summer.  Woo-Hoo!!!!  Mizzo found a potato that looked like it had eyes and a mouth.  He drew eyebrows, named it Walter and dubbed him my boyfriend.  Unfortunatly, he had a terrible falling off the couch accident and died during surgery.  He smelled bad, too. 

It was a pretty fun day!  I've already been recruited to do stuff tomorrow so just go with it.

Hey everybody!  Okay, so this has been the most demented summer so far.  Half the time I'm incredibly happy, one fourth of the time I'm angry and the rest I'm somewhat sad. Let me explain.

1.) Allie almost got herself landed in Texas for a year.  She is half the reason why I didn't kill everyone.  And I seriously haven't had my daily quota of Allie time in weeks so I'm going to be off-kilter for quite some time.  Luckily that never materialized so she's just grounded all summer.  ALLIE, I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

2.) Zach got himself grounded, too, but I won't end up shrivelling up and dying due to it.

3.) I saw Eggplant twice so far this summer.  I'm pretty sure he's either afraid of me or thinks I'm an idiot.  Everytime he sees me I'm either jumping up and down trying to get some Freshman to pay attention and listen to me or I'm TRYING to drop some very obvious hints but end up stuttering and looking really dumb.  July 4th is the last time I'm going to see him until August, too.

4.) Kati and Ben got together!!!! YAY!!!!!!  I'm so happy for you guys!  There were a lot of loose ends the first time! yay!!!!  It makes me smile on the inside... and outside for that matter!

5.)  I don't know what I'm going to do once I get back from Youth Conference.  It's about 4 days long starting on July 6th so I'm going to have a month where I have nothing to do until the Half-Time show practice (Eggplant, WOO!)

I'm convinced that I have gone insane today.  I'm not sure if anyone noticed but I kept zoning out and snapping back to reality only because I kept thinking that I saw Eggplant walking up or by.  I really do need to just ask him out.  This is just getting pathetic.  As a little kid and even during Middle School, I always thought that if I really wanted something or were really interested in some one, I would just ask them out.  (I also never thought that I'd just say yes to anyone who asked me out but I proved myself wrong over Christmas, too.)  If I hear some more good songs I'll post them here.
